With its anti-Islam, anti-multicultural stance, Danny Nalliah’s Rise Up Australia Party has been compared to One Nation. But will its policies win seats in the Senate?
The most interesting thing about Pastor Danny Nalliah isn’t that he reportedly raises people from the dead, or that Jesus talks to him in dreams, or even that he wants every school to be issued with a wooden spoon for the smacking of naughty bottoms – it’s that his moral authority as a politician comes from the colour of his skin.
He both affirmed and joked about it recently at the Victorian launch of his Rise Up Australia Party. During his speech, Nalliah told a story of being interviewed by an SBS journalist who asked if the party, which is stridently anti-Islamic and calls for an end to multiculturalism, was just another Pauline Hanson white-Australia affair.

A new ‘politically-incorrect’ political party, helmed by a controversial Sri Lankan-born evangelist, aims to field 64 candidates in the next election. But who is Danny Nalliah?
At the launch of Australia’s newest political party this week, Danny Nalliah said he is ‘determined to be politically incorrect’, with pro-Christian policy platforms to limit Muslim immigration and curb multicultural policies.
“Tolerance has gone too much and the Rise Up Australia (RUA) party is committed to keeping Australia Australian,” he said.

The Rise Up Australia Party is the brainchild of Christian preacher Daniel Nalliah.
He’s anti-Islamic, claims to have raised people from the dead and once blamed the Black Saturday bushfires on Victoria’s abortion laws.

A “POLITICALLY incorrect” party run by a Sri Lankan-born pastor has vowed to abolish multiculturalism in the unlikely event that it wins power.
Controversial evangelical preacher Danny Nalliah is the president of the Rise Up Australia Party, which launched its federal campaign in Canberra yesterday.
RUA will reportedly run 52 Lower House and 12 Senate candidates.
“Pastor Daniel”, of Catch the Fire Ministries, says a conversation with Jesus that went from 3.40am to 6am one morning prompted his move to Australia.
Since arriving here he has claimed that Victoria’s abortion laws caused the Black Saturday bushfires and that his prayers have brought dead people back to life.
